HAT Data Exchange Ltd (HATDeX) is the operational arm of the HAT Foundation, a social enterprise dedicated to empowering people everywhere to reclaim their data. HATDeX provides individuals with an exchange service for their personal data. It does this by growing and operating a large network of HAT personal data platforms world-wide, allowing firms as well as individuals to create new business opportunities. The HAT personal data platform allows the individual to organize, visualize, control and exchange their personal data in the context of their life – managing their digital self and putting themselves at the “hub-of-all-things”. HATDeX works with application developers and platform providers to give individuals their own HAT personal data platform, creating the HAT ecosystem of users. All those involved enjoy the benefits of HAT by being able to permit exchange of data from individual HAT to individual HAT without any third party intervention - the personal data being exchanged does not go through any third-party server or HATDeX itself. The rules for assuring privacy and confidentiality are set by the HAT Community Foundation, a members’ company limited by guarantee that governs HATDeX and the ecosystem for the benefit of all HAT users.
