Hatching Hope Information

Hatching Hope is a Birmingham, Alabama–based disaster relief nonprofit serving communities across the Southeast. We provide immediate humanitarian aid and long-term recovery support to families, children, and pets displaced from apartment homes by fire and other disasters. Purpose-built for the multifamily industry, we step in during the critical hours and days after disaster—bridging the gap between first responders and insurance, when families are often left with nothing but the clothes they escaped in. In those moments, our relief supplies are not extras; they are essentials. Our programs include Disaster Recovery Kits for displaced residents, Children’s Activity Kits and teddy bears that bring comfort in crisis, and Paws of Hope kits for pets who experience disaster right alongside their families. Through our Little Kids Doing Big Things program, children are also empowered to serve and give back—learning compassion through action. In addition, our thrift and consignment warehouse—The Marketplace by Hatching Hope—turns donated items into sustainable funding for disaster response, ensuring HOPE is always ready when the next call comes. Together with partners, volunteers, and the multifamily community, we show up when it matters most—bringing care, support, and a path forward for neighbors rebuilding after disaster.
