Haryana is well ahead in the field of aviation with Haryana institute of civil aviation (HICA) as a premier flying training institute. HICA is imparting training to Pilots and Engineers with three flying training centers fulfilling the flying requirements of pilots from various backgrounds and facilitating new inductions. Civil Aviation Haryana was established in the year 1966, since then it has rendered a great service to civil aviation industry by providing ace pilots and Engineers in airlines, general aviation, armed forces, Indian Coast guard, Border Security Force and flying training institute also. In the year 1999, Haryana Institute of Civil Aviation (HICA) came into existence on 1st April 1999 by merging erstwhile Karnal Aviation Club, Hissar Aviation Club and Pinjore Aviation Club all together. Two more aerodromes are in Bhiwani and Narnaul. HICA has won overall "Best Flying Training Institute" runner up trophy in India 2nd time for year 2012-13, earlier it has won the same trophy in 2008-09. This proud moment came when it was announced in the summit called by Aero Club of India in Delhi on 26.09.2012.
