The Harrison Riedel Foundation is an Australian Health Promotion Charity working to reduce the time between a young person needing help and receiving it. Established following the death of 13-year-old Harrison Riedel in 2014, the Foundation was created to address one of the greatest challenges in youth mental health: many young people experience distress long before they seek support. Our work focuses on prevention and early intervention by helping young people build the confidence, knowledge and practical skills to seek help earlier, support their peers safely and connect with trusted adults and professional services. We deliver evidence-informed, teacher-led school wellbeing programs and the YourCrew digital platform, which together provide practical support across schools, homes and communities. Our programs are co-designed with young people, informed by research and strengthened through continuous evaluation to ensure they remain relevant and effective. Our approach recognises that young people often turn to friends before professionals. Rather than expecting peers to solve problems, we equip them with practical guidance on what to say, what to do and where to go when someone needs support. What we do • Deliver evidence-informed wellbeing programs for primary and secondary schools. • Strengthen help-seeking, peer support, emotional literacy and wellbeing. • Provide the free YourCrew digital platform, including practical wellbeing tools, trusted support pathways and a Digital Safety Plan. • Work with schools, health services, researchers, governments and community organisations to improve prevention and early intervention. • Continuously evaluate our work to learn, improve and contribute to the evidence base for youth mental health prevention. About YourCrew YourCrew is a free digital platform designed to help young people navigate everyday challenges as well as times of emotional distress. Young people can create their own trusted support network, ac
