Harmonic Impact Studios is building rights infrastructure for music — provenance and royalty recovery for independent catalogs, labels, publishers, and artist estates. The music industry doesn’t have a payments problem; it has a data problem. Ownership is reconstructed after the fact, and when a song is sampled or interpolated into a new hit years later, the original creators are often the last to know and the last to be paid. We trace how compositions travel through derivative works, recover what rights holders are already owed, and are building toward a future where provenance is captured at the moment of creation — so ownership is a fact of the record, not a forensic exercise. What makes us different is where we build from. HIS operates a working hybrid analog-digital recording studio — Universal Audio Apollo conversion and UAD processing, Avid S1 control, Logic Pro, a Lauten Audio microphone chain, and a 500-series analog rack of API and Neve-family preamps, EQ, and compression. That’s not a side project; it’s the point. We believe in long-view tools: analog hardware that outlives software cycles, and software built to carry a song’s story for decades, not quarters. The same philosophy shapes our infrastructure — rights data should be as durable as a well-built console. The studio is also how we support artists directly: recording, mixing, and development for the creators our technology serves, and home base for our original content on music rights and the craft of record-making.
