Whickham School educates 1600 students and has one of the largest sixth forms in Gateshead. We believe that is our students are cared for and provided with an excellent curriculum, they are much more likely to succeed. We want all of our students to learn in a happy and caring environment so that they are able to develop all their talents to the full. Whilst there is a strong emphasis on academic achievement, all students are encouraged to take part in a very wide range of extra curricular activities. Our Sportsmark and Artsmark Gold awards reflect the school's commitment to educating the whole child. We work hard to maintain excellent links with the community and are constantly looking for ways of enhancing this relationship.
