Hardware & Building Traders Information

We're a buying group with over 600 members. Originally founded by independent retailers in the building materials, hardware & timber industries. Now, nearly 20 years on we have expanded into the industrial and tools market. HBT has fostered a strong culture of support and co-operation between it's members through our regular member meetings. It's an excellent informal forum for the exchange of ideas and information between members. Suppliers also enjoy these meetings as an opportunity to present new products and build personal relationships. All members are independently owned and operated businesses. We run very lean with a minimal yet highly professional administrative structure. Our Executive is composed of store owners/managers (members) who are responsible for approving all membership and supplier matters. We only have two mutually reinforcing objectives: 1. For our members - Lower buying prices and higher margins 2. For our suppliers - Build volume
