Hamaari Information

Hamaari is an established charity with a particular focus on Black Asian Minority Ethnic (BAME) in Derby. We strive to cater for our BAME members in order for them to fit in society and UK lifestyle. Our core area of focus is to provide for the most deprived people of East African origin. However Hamaari services are open to all members that are in need of our services. A group of community activist with the same purpose established Hamaari. They saw how difficult it was for these most deprived people from our community were struggling to settle in their own community. These difficulties were caused due to absence of awareness, understanding public organisations, UK systems and cultural clash. Based in the inner City of Derby in the most deprived wards in particular Arboretum and Normanton. Our slogan is "Cornerstone of Unity" and we want to be a voice for our people as the lack, shows none who represent our views. We support our members from BAME background in becoming active citizens by recognising their needs and respond accordingly. This is through training courses, counselling and physical activities. We provide fundamental services that aid them with benefit advice, interpreting and advocating on their behalf. We work to provide the highest quality customer service that empowers our community, relieve poverty and enhancing opportunities for those who are hardest to reach by breaking barriers. Hamaari will achieve this by continuing to pursue its Mission, Vision and Core Purpose.
