The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is responsible for the stewardship of federal port lands in and around Vancouver, British Columbia. Like all Canada Port Authorities, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is established by the Government of Canada pursuant to the Canada Marine Act, and accountable to the federal Minister of Transport. Our mandate is to facilitate Canada’s trade objectives, ensuring goods are moved safely, while protecting the environment and considering local communities. The Port of Vancouver is Canada’s largest, supporting close to one in every five dollars of trade in goods that flow through our country and offering the broadest range of cargo-handling options of any port in North America. Positioned on the southwest coast of British Columbia in Canada, the Port of Vancouver extends from Roberts Bank and the Fraser River up to and including Burrard Inlet. The port authority manages over 16,000 hectares of water, more than 1,000 hectares of land and approximately 350 kilometres of shoreline that make up the port.

Since 1967, ACL has been a specialized transatlantic carrier of containers, project and oversized cargo, heavy equipment and vehicles with the world’s largest combination RORO/Containerships. The company is headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden with a Corporate Office in Westfield New Jersey and offices throughout Europe and North America. ACL offers a weekly transatlantic sailings and handles the Grimaldi Lines’ service between the U.S. & West Africa and the Grimaldi EuroMed Service between North America and the Mediterranean. The Company also offers service for non-containerizeable cargo to the Middle East, South Africa, Australia and the Far East. ACL is a Grimaldi Group company.

Operated by the Montreal Port Authority (MPA), the Port of Montreal is the largest container port in Eastern Canada and a diversified transshipment centre that handles all types of goods: containerized and non-containerized cargo, liquid bulk and dry bulk. The only container port in Quebec, it is a destination port served by the largest shipping lines in the world. It is also an intermodal hub with a service offering that is unique in North America, featuring its own rail network directly dockside connected to Canada’s two national rail networks. The MPA also operates a Cruise Terminal and a Port Centre. The MPA factors economic, social and environmental components into its corporate initiatives. This commitment is governed by a sustainable development policy whose guiding principles focus on involvement, cooperation and accountability. Port activity in Canada supports some 590,000 jobs and generates $93.5 billion in economic activity.
