Halau Wa'a Episcopal is an Episcopal mission, serving all of God's people living in West Oahu: Kapolei, Ewa Beach, Makakilo, Koolina, and Kunia. MISSION: Steeped in the history and tradition of the Episcopal faith, Halau Wa'a Episcopal is a hui of small group ministries calling to those that may not have been raised in a traditional faith community. The small groups engage in activities during the week that empower each member's individual spiritual journey. By incorporating scripture and prayer with an activity, our souls are enriched by bringing God's word into our lives. It is through prayer, scripture, and service to the people of West Oahu, that we share God's love in our lives. To remind us that our aina and moana are sacred, Halau Wa'a Episcopal worships outside. On Sundays at 10am, the wa'a gather in prayer and Eucharist, lifting our voices together. Halau Wa'a Episcopal is a hui, or collective, of spiritually focused small affinity groups that get together weekly. These spiritual groups might be likened to wa'a or canoes, on journeys of their own. Currently, Halau Wa'a Episcopal have wa'a focused on adult confirmation/leadership training, youth confirmation, bread making, hockey, kanikapila, and golf. Initially a group of strangers, we now see friendships and community developing in the short amount of time the wa'a have met in-person prior to meeting solely on-line. Add spirituality through a simple reading of scripture or prayer, and you now have the recipe for the wa'a of Halau Wa'a Episcopal; a mode of spiritual transport, taking us on an even deeper journey into the world of God, and Gods world in us.
