Saigon Sisters is run by Vietnamese sisters, Mary Nguyen Aregoni and Theresa Nguyen, along with their mother, Mama Suu. The main inspiration for beginning their business came from influential family members. Mama Suu and the sisters’ grandmother began as successful entrepreneurs in Vietnam, growing an open-market grocery into a large food market operation that served as the main supplier to nearby embassies. After the Nguyen family moved to the United States, Mama Suu encouraged her daughters to achieve their goals and do what they love, which eventually happened to be following in her footsteps. The original Saigon Sisters opened as a booth at nearby Chicago French Market in December 2009, and expanded to 2 more locations at 567 W. Lake St. and at Northwestern Memorial Hospital

Banh Mi Boys first opened its doors to Toronto in 2011. Working out of a small mom-and-pop shop at Queen Street West and Spadina Avenue, three brothers armed with history and knowledge of Vietnamese cuisine began offering savoury hot meats in perfectly-toasted baguettes. It wasn’t long before word-of-mouth got around and what had initially started as a slow-moving venture led to bustling and eager line-up’s out the door. In 2013, following the successful launch of our flagship location, Banh Mi Boys opened its second restaurant. Following suit with the same menu of Vietnamese Banh Mi, Chinese Steamed Bao’s and Korean-inspired Taco’s, the demand for the modern Banh Mi continued to escalate, naturally paving the way for our third and fourth locations in 2015 and 2017 respectively. It was only a matter of time before our stores could no longer individually handle the increase in demand. With the brothers’ history of working and managing large-scale food production, we built and equipped our own commissary kitchen – allowing us to continue to develop our food in-house with the same integral and high-quality standards you’re used to.We believe in sharing the passion that created this unique restaurant with the world.
