Haier Telecom India Pvt. Ltd. started operations in December 2005 to market Haier Mobiles. With the growing opportunities in India and around the world HTIL has marked its presence across four continents in the high growth centers of Asia, Africa, South America and Europe. In the very first year of it’s operations in 2006 it clocked sales of over 3 million handsets in India and captured 18% of the CDMA handset market with pole position in CDMA handset sales, becoming the 2nd largest. This has been made possible with successful partnerships with Mobile Service Operators like Tata Teleservices, Airtel and most recently Virgin Mobile. Mr. Arun Khanna is the Vice Chairman and Managing Director. Mr Chai Yongsen is the Chairman. HTIL is also focusing on a whole new design initiative, giving the phones a ‘look and feel’ like none other in the Industry. Wireless products based on independent research are also being developed.
