Habitat for Humanity Menominee River (HFHMR) of Iron Mountain-Kingsford, MI believes that everyman, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. We are a community-based organization that works to eliminate poverty housing in Dickinson County. We do this by building simple decent homes and selling them to partner families. Our partner families purchase these houses through no-profit, no-interest mortgage loans or innovative financing methods. We build and repair homes in Dickinson, Iron, and Florence counties. To keep costs affordable, HFHMR relies on local volunteers to build homes, and change neighborhoods. Whenever possible, we build sustainable, energy-efficient and healthy housing. As a non-profit, Ecumenical Christian ministry that builds with people in need regardless of race or religion, we welcome volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds.
