Habitarte is a portfolio of properties dedicated to service, wellness and preserving the environment for the future of humanity. In El Bajo our forest sanctuary, we have a 21 room ecolodge , a great destination for those who are seeking a place to relax and reconnect in a pure and natural place or to experience life from a different perspective. We learned that El Bajo is part of a fragile network of Cloud forests scattered around the world , that act as the lungs for our planet and are key to human survival. In our excursions we encountered rare species of butterflies like the monarch and the crystal winged. We saw ferns, lichens and begonias growing wild and heavy in the ravines where the deer live. We climbed the steep sides of the forest to discover that there were many more ridges to climb as the property extends 8 kms deep and totals thousands of acres. With Dr. Byron Walsh, our resident biologist, we have explored 54 kms of nature trails, have identified three different species of monkeys, including, the vulnerable white headed capuccine. Our other wonderful properties, are all situated in privileged locations in our country. We have a private island in Lake Nicaragua called La Gloria, a coffee estate in the mountain Pine Forests of Jinotega and 60 hectares of Tamarind forests, on a deserted beach in the Pacific Coast of Nicaragua. You'd love to lie there under a Palapa, drink freshly squeezed tropical juices and observe the waves crashing on the shore.
