In October 2016, six (6) FarmitRx SAS clients participated in a combined 2690 acres case study of almonds and table grapes utilizing the FarmitRx SAS data models developed for locating soil moisture sensors (SMS) and scheduling irrigation management frequencies and durations in real-time. Meter readings approved by client and provided by PG&E for 2014-2016 were used in the case study. FarmitRx SAS recommended irrigation schedules were compared to actual applied schedule, deviation from target field capacity, total kilowatt usage, yield and quality from 2014 -2016 across the 2690 acres in Fresno, Kings, Tulare and Kern counties. Results analyzed to date averaged 40.1 % annual reduction in total kilowatt utilized for 2015-16 compared to 2014. Additionally annual yields on average increased 26.3% compared to soil moisture sensor (SMS) managed fields without FarmitRx SAS data models recommended irrigation.
