Inspired by beautiful Maori word for Autism "Takiwatanga", we wrote Gurucool's vision statement— "In your own space and time". For us, each person is special, who will learn, grow and thrive in her own space and time. We decided to advocate for 'space and time' of each individual learner. We can't make a dandelion bloom in a day. Why? Because it has its own time to grow. Why don't Dandelians grow on moon? Because moon isn't a safe and supportive space for them. Whatever we have done and whatever we are doing are steps toward this vision! So what is Gurucool? Gurucool is an educational networking platform that offers a suite of tools to connect learners and educators. We can understand it as— a networking platform just like LinkedIn which offers a suite of tools just like Zoho. With more than 25 tools, we are empowering educators like schools and colleges to go online and build their own digital infrastructure and learners to find, connect and learn from them. An educator account once verified can publish its own content, use teaching and analytical tools, advertise and monetize. Learners can create their accounts for free on Gurucool. They can look for their community or interest, and start learning and networking at the same time. Learners get to choose what they want to learn, how they want to learn when they want to learn and from whom they want to learn.
