本公司創始於清穆宗同治六年(西元1867)以經營祖傳自製糕餅為業，創辦人郭樑楨，為緬懷福建璋洲『元益』袓厝，更不忘原籍特名『郭元益』以茲紀念，這是『郭元益』的由來。為提升產品品質，更新產品技術，肩頁起餅食文化薪傳的神聖使命，於79年興建楊梅廠，並於81年加入生產行列，期以提供更精緻之糕餅美食奉獻桑梓回饋社會。
