Erdemir, the main company of the OYAK Mining Metallurgy and one of the most valuable industrial assets of Turkey, was established in 1960 under a special law, in order to be the first domestic producer of flat steel, which the Turkish industry necessitates at that time. Erdemir produces plates, hot and cold rolled, tin, chromium and zinc coated flat steel and supplies basic inputs to automotive, white goods, pipes and tubes, rolling, manufacturing, electrics-electronics, mechanical engineering, energy, heating equipment, shipbuilding, defense, and packaging industries.

The Acerinox Group, with its headoffice in Spain, is the global leader in the manufacture of stainless steel and high-performance alloys, and has a melting shop capacity of 3.5 million tons. Its production network is comprised of 15 factories distributed in three continents. The Group has five plants in its stainless steel division: three integrated flat product plants (Acerinox Europa, North American Stainless and Columbus Stainless) and two long product plants (Roldan and Inoxfil). The Group’s High-Performance Alloys (HPA) Division (global leader in the HPA sector) is formed by VDM Metals and Haynes International, two companies that have 12 production centers throughout the United States and Germany. Acerinox Group products, with more than 11,000 possible combinations, are sold through an extensive commercial network that covers more than 80 countries.
