The Governance and Social Development Resource Centre (GSDRC) is a University of Birmingham research centre that bridges research and policy on global challenges. For 25 years, we have delivered the right evidence at the right time on issues of governance, social development, humanitarian response, conflict, and development cooperation. Through our flagship research helpdesk and wider partnerships, we support governments, international organisations, and development agencies with rapid, policy-relevant analysis that informs decision-making and practice around the world. Alongside these established areas of work, we are developing new projects and initiatives focused on aid and development cooperation, state capture, multihazard risks and resilience, AI-enabled evidence synthesis, and strengthening evidence-informed policymaking.
