groupsports Information

groupsports is a multi-disciplinary design studio who make limited-edition collections as well as site-specific projects, with a focus on developing circular material practices. We understand play as an engine for existence, and a vehicle for connection, reflection, and embodiment. With this guiding principle, we reimagine a softer built environment that is adaptive, responsive, and reciprocal. We approach the built environment through the lens of ecology. As object makers, this means that we are primarily concerned with the relationships between kin, and the way our environment impacts those relationships. It also means that we understand the natural world to be interconnected to the built environment. As such, cultivating circular material practices is a central part of our work. Founded by SJ Naim + Annie Render in 2019, all pieces are fabricated in our Los Angeles studio.
