Groupmuse is an online platform that organizes house concert parties ("groupmuses") hosted in peoples' living rooms. Since the first groupmuse in January 2013, there have been 1,000 groupmuses in 13 cities throughout the USA and abroad. Groupmuse has been featured in The New York Times, Time Magazine, Wall Street Journal, the Boston Globe, the Guardian, NPR, WIRED, and many more. In March 2020, Groupmuse pivoted to online concerts streamed from musicians' homes. Groupmuse Foundation was launched in September 2020 to directly support musicians in need of training, tech, and technology to stay connected to audiences during the pandemic. The Groupmuse community consists of musicians and audiences who meet in real life and online, to engage with music in warm and intimate settings. In Jan 2021, Groupmuse became a worker-owned cooperative. In Oct 2021, 10 musician-owners joined the cooperative, making Groupmuse a multistakeholder cooperative.
