Group1 is developing power systems for resilient AI infrastructure and advancing an American supply chain to support them. Our initial focus is modular backup power and ride-through for edge computing and data centers, helping keep critical computing infrastructure operating through power interruptions. We are connecting American raw materials, technology development and U.S. manufacturing to strengthen both power reliability and supply-chain security. Our enabling technology is potassium-ion energy storage, rooted in innovations from the UT Austin laboratory of John Goodenough, 2019 Nobel laureate in Chemistry and co-inventor of the lithium-ion battery. We’ve built commercial-format cells and are advancing toward integrated systems with customers and partners. Based in Austin, Texas, Group1 combines materials science, process engineering, battery engineering and AI-enabled R&D to bring American innovation to critical power infrastructure.
