Grogans Machinery Information

Grogans Machinery is a proud, family-owned operated business boasting five generations in the business. Our forefathers established this agricultural business nearly one hundred years ago in 1919. The original owner, Paddy Grogan, worked on his parent's property in Mt Pleasant in Northern Victoria before moving to Elmore when his parents decided to retire. Once in Elmore, Paddy recognised that there was a need to service the large agricultural demands of the community and consequently, Grogans Machinery was established. Paddy quickly grew the business and supplied grain and agricultural equipment. Andrew Grogan (snr) took over the reins of the business and supported the local farming community with terms of credit and gave them much needed support in times of extreme hardship. After the great depression of the 1930's, many of the farmers were trying to re-estabilsh their businesses and Andrew's good will was his legacy. Maurice took over the reins of the company in the early 1960's and increased the business to sell more agricultural brands such as John Deere Tractors, John Shearer Tillage and Horwood Bagshaw Seeders. The business became an integral part of the agricultural industry. Maurice's son, Andrew, joined the business in the late 1970's and completed his diesel mechanic apprenticeship. His other son, Matthew, later joined the business after completing his panel beating apprenticeship. Both worked with Maurice for many years. After Maurice's retirement in 1998, Andrew and Mathew continued to run the business in Elmore for a few more years. However, as the agricultural industry was rapidly growing, a decision was made to move the business to Bendigo in order to access more prominent and quality brand franchises. As a result of the businesses position in Epsom, a large range of quality tractors and implements can be displayed.
