The current state of the music industry makes it almost impossible for independent artists to earn a living selling music. And to make it even harder, listeners are moving away from purchasing to streaming music, generating even less income. So, if most independent artists can't afford to make a living creating music, then fewer artists will try and we all lose. Too many bands we knew started giving away their music to collect fans so they could earn money on concert tickets and T-shirts. Giving away the music? Logic was going out the window so we decided to do something about it. As long as fans wanted to hear good music and world-class brands wanted to sponsor that music, we figured it was possible for all sides to win. Bands get paid for sharing their music with fans. Fans get to download and own it for free. And sponsors get to make it all happen in a non-invasive way.
