We are a profitable company that has been built without significant venture backing (IT Deusto, Caixanova and AFI are the most significant minority investors in the company). We are proud of our strong R&D focus, and we work with partners and systems integrators to distribute our products to customers worldwide. We are an active participant in several European and nationalR&D projects which command over 150 million of euros in total funding. In 2003, we were awarded the prestigious IST prize. In 2004 we received the Computerworld prize for enterpreneurship of the year and in 2005 the IGC (Internet Global Conference) prize for Innovation. In 2007, Prof. Joan Masso, founder and CEO of GridSystems, received the special "20x20" prize of the financial newspaper "Expansion" for being one of the top 20 innovators of the last 20 years. In 2007, we have committed to an open-source business model that also provides professional subscription support services to our customers, with a dual licensing model to enable third party propietary licensing and other commercial models.
