Greenwash Action Information

Greenwash Action is a joint initiative of Sierra Club and Greenpeace. Our mission is to support progress toward a healthy, biodiverse, climate-stable world by defending programs that represent true environmental leadership and challenging special interests that use greenwash to confuse the marketplace. Greenwash Action’s immediate focus is the green building sector where the threat to leadership is immediate and pressing. Greenwash Action is committed to fighting greenwashing, but we are not fighting for fighting’s sake. Our core strategy is to reframe and transform the current negative competition in the green building arena between supporters of the major leadership and greenwash standards into peaceful coexistence and collaboration around common-sense, common-ground solutions to our most pressing environmental problem: reducing the risk of catastrophic climate change.
