Bonbeach Primary School was established in 1958 in the City of Kingston, 35 kilometres south-east of Melbourne. Bonbeach Primary School and Preschool is unique in the area having a Pre-school on the same site as the school providing 3 and 4 year old programs through to Year 6. Every year is exciting as new students commence their time with us at the Pre-school or primary school. Enrolments this year have increased at both the primary school and preschool. There are currently 307 students at the Primary School. There are waiting lists for both 3 Year old and 4 Year old programs at the Pre-school. There are more housing development projects near the school that are bringing more families to our community. Community participation is emphasised and encouraged in all activities at Bonbeach. It is a feature of our school. We have a very active parent group with School Council, Parents and Friends and parent volunteers involved in assisting in the classrooms, operating the canteen, developing our grounds and buildings and supporting the school. The Strategic Plan developed in 2010 identified the following goals for the school: To improve student achievement in English and Mathematics To improve student learning outcomes through further development of teaching strategies and programs throughout the school. To increase students' independence as personal learners To ensure transition from preschool to school and school to secondary college will be supportive, encouraging and accommodating for both students and families. The school is working to continually improve its outcomes in these areas. A review of our strategic plan and directions will occur this year.
