The Center for Visual Artists (CVA) is a non-profit organization that supports emerging artists of all ages through educational programs, exhibition opportunities and community outreach. It is the merger of two long-standing Greensboro community visual arts agencies, The Center for Creative Arts (est. 1965) and the Greensboro Artists’ League (est. 1956). These organizations joined forces in 2005 to form a comprehensive art center that encompasses both arts education and art exhibition. Through education, exhibition, and outreach programs, the CVA seeks to: - Create opportunities for local artists to develop their talents and exhibit their work. - Provide arts-based educational opportunities for aspiring and professional artists of all ages and abilities. - Engage Greensboro’s diverse community via visual art offerings that are approachable, accessible, and affordable. - Enable individuals at all skill levels to engage in and experience the arts. - Partner with other organizations to ensure the arts are available for special populations, public school children, and others. The CVA is a 501(c)(3) visual art non-profit organization. Without the strong support of donors, grantors, and other supporters in the Greensboro community, our efforts would not be possible.
