Situated in the Murrumbidgee River corridor and overlooking the stunning Brindabella Ranges, Greenhills Centre was created as a place for learning, renewal and retreat. Established in 1965 by Max Hill OAM, a committed member of the Uniting Church and dedicated Rotarian, Greenhills provides live-in facilities for group training, youth camps and community gatherings. Initially comprised of only 2 large dormitory buildings (one for girls, one for boys), a small dining 'hut' and a communal outhouse, the current site has now been expanded exponentially to incorporate a large dining and conference building and extended accommodation blocks. The disastrous Canberra Bushfires in 2003 destroyed many of the original buildings on site, calling for the Cotter Centre and Rotary Hall to be completely rebuilt in 2006.
