Greater Gaston Development Corporation Information

Gaston County’s business leadership led the formation of the GGDC to unite businesses, governments, academia and nonprofit organizations behind a pro-growth agenda. Founded in 2014 to meet the growing economic needs of Gaston County, the GGDC plays a unique role in the greater Gaston region. We are a nonprofit membership organization that fosters collaboration and drives action on strategic county-wide initiatives. ​ The GGDC convenes public, private, and nonprofit institutions to tackle the "big picture"​ questions facing Gaston County as identified by over 100 community leaders in the Alliance for Growth Plan. That Plan detailed seven key focus areas and supporting projects to better prepare Gaston County for the future. Within this context, the GGDC operates and works with its many partners to accelerate job growth and attract capital investment to Gaston County.
