Greg's background is within the world of brand strategy, having started his career at Reuters before joining Bloomberg and finally moving agency side to work with some of the most compelling brains in the marketing world to develop and hone my brand-building craft and which would set him on the path that would lead to setting up his own consulting firm, GreatDrams Consulting. Greg also founded GreatDrams.com and has recently authored his first whisky book, The GreatDrams of Scotland, a conversational book of distillery stories, anecdotes and historical accounts from distilleries all over Scotland, as well as starting his own independent whisky bottling programme which can be found onGreatDrams.com. GreatDrams Ventures is a business that provides customers with various whisky-based products and services including books, bottles of whisky and private whisky tastings. It is a product-based business spawned from the success of GreatDrams.com. In 2017, upon the publication of Director Gregory Dillon’s first book, The GreatDrams of Scotland, it was deemed appropriate to work with Douglas Laing to create our very first independently bottled whisky, an 8 Year Old Ardmore - purchased duty paid. Our exclusive bottling was meant to be a one-off, but due to popular demand both online through GreatDrams.com/shop and direct to consumers it has triggered the realisation that this ‘one-off’ should become a business in its own right. And that’s exactly what happened; our business now buys interesting casks of whisky from distilleries all around Scotland as they are maturing, that we release as and when the flavour profile is perfect and delivers on our quality assessment.
