Great Wild Salmon Run Information

The Great Wild Salmon Run is a perfect combination of original public art and private auction. It was formed to raise money for nonprofit groups struggling in a tough economy save Wild Salmon. It is the first public outreach of its kind in the Pacific Northwest. Next summer, 100 large scale original art salmon sculptures will be displayed in cities bordering Lake Washington. This exceptional outdoor public art exhibition is the most visible community-wide public arts event ever held in the Seattle area. Proceeds from the sale of the Wild Salmon art benefit local nonprofit groups working on Wild Salmon issues. Feel the power of art. Hear the Wild Salmon story. Each year, the 12,000 year history of our people and Wild Salmon is told in regional rivers. The heroic cycle of birth, life, death and rebirth of Wild Salmon returning to their birthplace every year carrying millions of kilograms of ocean nutrients deep inland nourish the forest, rebuild the soil and sustain wild life. Everything Wild Salmon need our children need ~ clean air, cold clear water, healthy food and a safe place to live. The Great Wild Salmon Run is the largest regional philanthropic venture of its kind bringing together corporations, individual donors, nonprofits and artists to protect this iconic fish.
