Great Malvern Priory Information

Great Malvern Priory is a large Anglican church with an active congregation - each Sunday 200 or more gather to worship and as you will see in our logo, "All for Jesus" is our aim and purpose. You are welcome to join us for worship or just to come and enjoy the presence of God while walking round the magnificent building - made special by almost a thousand years of prayer. Through all the changes during the Priory's history, one thing has remained constant. Since its foundation, the Priory has been a place set apart for the worship of the Living God. Day by day prayer is offered to God through Jesus Christ by people who make up the 'living stones' of the Priory. This impressive building stands as a testimony to the faith of many generations and has done so ever since Aldwyn founded it as a Benedictine Priory in 1085. It was a monastery for over 450 years. As you might imagine, almost a thousand years of history cannot be without a few difficult times. The Priory was bought by local people for £20 to save it from destruction in 1541, and since then has been the parish church at the centre of Great Malvern.
