Great King Garment Company was established in August 1983, during a period of growing demand for garment exports in Taiwan. Our initial factory was located in Toufen, middle of Taiwan, which covered an area of 10,000 square meters and employed a staff of 150 workers. Our product lines included outerwear, ski and snowboard garments, including vests, jackets, parkas, overalls and one-piece suits. Our Taiwan factory building is currently used as a materials distribution center for our overseas factories. In order to adapt to the changing and growing market and to provide better services for our customers, we established our second factory in China, Greatmen Industrial (Xiamen) Co., Ltd, in August 1989. This facility was initially equipped with 4 production lines and 190 employees and has grown to 8 production lines with 400 workers when reaching a climax. Our product lines have expanded to more complicated and technical items, such as high tech seam-sealed jackets and pants. At the present, our Xiamen factory's capacity is over 15,000 pcs per month with 5 lines. The major markets for this factory are Japan (30%), Europe (5%), America (40%), Australia and China (25%). To extend our product lines, we established our third factory in 1993, Kingtai Industrial (Xiamen) Co., Ltd., in China to manufacture sleeping bags. With strong background in materials and workmanship in garments, we make both synthetic sleeping bags and down ones. Meanwhile, understanding our role and responsibility to environment and workers, we are bluesign® system partner, RDS down certified, and have been undergone FWF audit since 2013. Currently, Kingtai is equipped with 8 production lines and 250 workers with monthly capacity of 30,000 pcs. Major markets are the USA (60%), Europe (30%), Australia and Japan (10%). Our fourth factory, Formosa Textil (NICA), S. A., was set up in Central America, Nicaragua in 1999 in reaction to the growth in the outerwear industry. This factory is primarily focused on exports to the United States. We now have 30 production lines, employing 2,150 workers, with a factory capacity of 200,000 pcs per month. Product lines are focused on fleece garments and soft-shell jackets as well as swim trucks, wind jackets, wind pants, jogging suits, sportswear. From April 2006, we have benefited from CAFTA-DR enabling good manufactured in this factory to be exported duty free to the USA market if the materials are composed of goods from CAFTA countries or the materials are on the short supply list. Last but not the least, we have our fifth and sixth factories opened in Myanmar in December 2014. To better fulfill our clients' need and foresee the potential of Myanmar, these 100% investment factories produce both apparel and sleeping bags. With 32 production lines, 2,000 workers and 200,000 pcs per month at full capacity, Greatmen (Myanmar) specializes on outerwear, performance garments, and ski wear. Bellmart (Myanmar), on the other hand, has product lines focusing on synthetic sleeping bags of stitching-through, layer, and shingle construction. When reaching full capacity of 125,000 pcs per month, this factory is equipped with 12 production lines, employing 1,000 workers. Myanmar stands in a pivot location in Southeast Asia, bringing long-term benefits with lower transportation and material cost. Its recent regime transform shows that it has a strong commitment to reform, which positively brings more foreign direct investment in the near future. Not only does Myanmar have potential in long-term perspective, but it has short-term advantages of competitive labor cost, and GSP. Myanmar has been granted GSP from EU, Switzerland, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Turkey, and Korea. Duty can be saved directly when importing to those markets. Furthermore, USA has temporarily lift trade restriction on Myanmar in late 2015, providing a boost for U.S. business operations in Myanmar. We have been satisfying our customer's demand with our superior quality, on-time delivery and excellent service for the past 30 years.
