Nightcliff Primary School is located in the suburb of Nightcliff about 10 kilometres from the centre of the city and two blocks back from the beach. The school is a modern primary school catering for students from Preschool to Year six. The school has: approximately 520 students currently enrolled, 19 classroom teachers from Transition to Year Six, 12 support staff and a double unit preschool which provides morning or afternoon sessions for students. We also have an annex for Nemarluk School, who provide services for children who require specialised and individualised educational programs. The Australian Curriculum is used as the basis of all our teaching and learning programs for English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Humanities and Social Sciences, The Arts and Health and Physical Education. We enjoy a busy calendar throughout the school year of intra and extra-curricular activities. Parents/caregivers are welcome in our classrooms, assemblies, three-way conversations and are invited to see their child's class teacher or the Principal about any matters of concern. We send weekly newsletters home (by print or by email) to all parents/caregivers which include a message from the Principal, news, events and information. Nightcliff Primary School Council is made up of parents, teachers and community members who are elected to the council. The council meets on the third Tuesday of each month. The council has an active and wide ranging involvement in decisions for the school, including policy, contracts, infrastructure contracts, the canteen and fundraising. All parents and carers are welcome to attend.
