GrassRoots RX was founded in 2007 by Blackie Roundtree, who operated a storefront on 4th Street in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 2017, Marc Katz and Lee Farrelly, from Upstate New York, partnered with Erik Garcia, of Grants, New Mexico, to take over the management and operation of GrassRoots, opening a new store in Garcia's hometown. In June 2018, GrassRoots returned to Albuquerque with a new store on San Mateo Boulevard. A few months later, GrassRoots kicked off the new year with a second Albuquerque location - this time off of Coors on the Westside. Throughout its evolution from a small grow in 2007 to its current state, GrassRoots has continued to focus on the needs of patients, including providing high quality products and excellent customer service and education.
