We want to earn enough to thrive, not just survive, and leave a better future for our kids. We want healthy food and clean water, safe neighborhoods and a safe world. We want to be free. But the richest people on Earth — and the political insiders who serve them — have rigged the rules of our economy and our democracy to grab up wealth and power for themselves. They have defunded our schools, undermined community services, and stripped working people of the right to organize into unions. And then they blame poor people or people of different races or different places — aiming to divide us and distract us from what we have in common. The Working Families Party is regular people coming together across our differences to make a better future for us all. We’re a multiracial party that fights for workers over bosses and people over the powerful. We want an America which realizes the promise – unrealized in our history – of freedom and equality for all.

National Nurses United, with more than 225,000 members nationwide, is the largest union and professional organization of direct-care registered nurses in the United States and a strong, progressive voice for nurses, patients, and health care workers around the world. NNU's executive director is Puneet Maharaj and its presidents are RNs Jamie Brown, Nancy Hagans, Cathy Kennedy, and Mary Turner. NNU affiliates include the District of Columbia Nurses Association, Michigan Nurses Association, Minnesota Nurses Association, New York State Nurses Association, and California Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing Committee, which represents nurses at facilities in Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, and Puerto Rico. NNU affiliate members are renowned as leading advocates of guaranteed health care, fighting for expanding and updating Medicare to cover all people in the United States, for negotiating many of the best collective bargaining contracts for RNs in the nation, and for sponsorship of innovative legislation and regulatory protections for patients and nurses.

The Center for Popular Democracy works to create equity, opportunity and a dynamic democracy in partnership with high-impact base-building organizations, organizing alliances, and progressive unions. CPD strengthens our collective capacity to envision and win an innovative pro-worker, pro-immigrant, racial and economic justice agenda. CPD is a high-impact national organization that builds organizing power to transform the local and state policy landscape through deep, long-term partnerships with leading community-based organizing groups nationwide. Collectively, our staff brings decades of experience to bear, merging technical and legal expertise with deep organizing experience to support our partners in winning, sustaining, expanding and replicating victories across the country. CPD not only helps partners win organizing campaigns and further innovative policy agendas, but we also support them to build strong organizational infrastructure and political muscle. CPD generates momentum from the local level up to ensure that the values of equity, opportunity and a dynamic democracy become national priorities. Our work is not simply about making policy change. It is about working with communities to understand the root causes of the challenges we confront, building consensus around transformative solutions, and working in sustained partnership to accomplish shared goals. We aim to do our work in a way that builds trust, enhances collective capacity, and ultimately broadens and strengthens the progressive movement.
