Grantmakers Council of Rhode Island Information

We are pleased to introduce to the Grantmakers Council of Rhode Island, Inc. (GCRI), a new membership organization created to support an environment for knowledge sharing and collegial networking among funders. Several key grantmakers in Rhode Island formed GCRI as a result of the expressed need for skill building workshops, roundtables and forums specifically focused on the issues affecting Rhode Island. GCRI provides private, corporate foundations, corporate giving programs, and individuals with organized grantmaking programs or charitable endowments, with a unique opportunity to share a vision for learning and working together. Today, GCRI has more than 30 member organizations. Each month, a program is held on various issues from affordable housing and health care to grantmaking and effective program evaluation. The purpose of the meetings is to provide information and education to members that will help them become more effective grantmakers.
