Grant County Rescue Mission Information

The Grant County Rescue Mission works to address some of the underlying problems of homelessness, such as: substance abuse, incomplete education and inadequate skills. The Grant County Rescue Mission and Open Heart Women's Shelter is the only homeless shelter for men, women and children. We are currently serving approximately 74,000 free meals a year. Our kitchen is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year and provides meals to anyone in need. In 2008, we provided over 18,000 nights of shelter to homeless individuals in Grant County. At the Rescue Mission, we define homelessness as any individual or family that cannot provide shelter for themselves because of substance abuse, financial difficulties, behavior problems and physical or mental disability. The yearly budget for the Rescue Mission currently is approximately $700,000.00. All monies raised by the Mission stay in Grant County to help those in need in Grant County. We are a Christian based organization and we don't accept any government funding.
