Annex Media started as an idea long before it ever produced anything. Spawning out of Toronto's Annex neighbourhood, Annex Media began as nothing more than a few teenagers jamming out live music and shooting it on video. What started as an online video hub (long before YouTube), Annex effectively followed core member Jesse Wachter to Halifax, Nova Scotia for about 5 years. This period was crucial in Annex Media's development as a video production company. Halifax granted the young production company the opportunity to produce the world's first documentary Canadian Surf feature shot entirely in winter conditions (The Team - 2005). After seeing relative success in DVD sales, the company shifted focus and was responsible for the entire post-production of Salvador's Deli (2006), a featured submission at the 2006 Turks and Caicos International Film Festival. Annex Media has operated since, offering a variety of production solutions including commercial video production, music video production and website production as well as live media streaming with notable clients such as progressive rock band RUSH and hockey legend Wayne Gretzky. Annex Media relocated to Toronto in 2007 and incorporated where the company primarily has been pursuing interests in animation technology - experimenting with live motion capture and facial recognition techniques. In 2013 Annex Media created an online travel channel called Travel Annex - a one stop platform for documentary style videos of places to go, stay and eat. Realizing that many clients in the hospitality need exposure in addition to an informative video alone; Travel Annex gives establishments a platform for both. We not only produce great video features that tourist/hospitality businesses can embed on their website or social media feeds - we share them with a subscribed following of over a quarter million travel minded fans.
