GRACE'S Garden Information

GRACE'S is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization offering support to women of Central New York who are affected by gynecologic cancers. Our goal is to provide emotional and social support, as well as engage in community activities which promote increased attention to the prevention and early detection of these cancers. We are survivors sharing our own experiences, strengths and hopes. We hold regularly scheduled, monthly support group meetings which are led by a facilitator/survivor and oncologic registered nurse. Meetings are informal and relaxed with light refreshments provided. Occasionally special events are planned, such as a featured guest speaker or off-site dinner. We create an informal network of support for members, encouraging regular contact between meetings. Women with similar diseases or treatment protocols are able to learn from and lean on each other. We reach out to newly diagnosed women through referrals and work of mouth. We work to educate and increase awareness in the local community about gynecologic cancers, emphasizing early symptom detection and available screening tests.
