GovITHub is a Romanian government program that allows tech specialists to participate in the digitalization of public administrative services. Alongside representatives of the government administration, GovITHub's members are developing digital platforms for the administrative body to better interact with citizens. Driven by 3 main principles - Mobile First, Cloud Ready & Open by Default - GovITHub works as an open-data governmental tech start-up aimed at delivering modern & innovative digital platforms to support Romanian citizens. Within one month of launch, over 1500 candidates signed up for the GovITHub program. A panel of international experts from the private and public domain, following a rigorous set of interviews and skill checks, have chosen 20 specialists to take part in the fellowship program, alongside 300 part-time volunteers.
