GOSPEL TIDE BROADCASTING ASSOCIATION Information

The Tide ministry currently produces heart language radio programs in seventeen different heart languages. Seven of these languages target people groups in India, with programming in Hindi on the air for nearly three and a half decades. Because of the large Hindi speaking population, The Tide produces two different programs that air at various times during the week. The Tide is working diligently to expand its Christian broadcasts in more languages around the globe. In January, The Tide began broadcasting in the Anaang language in Nigeria, making it the 15th language The Tide offers throughout the world. In April, The Tide added radio programming in the Ibibio language in Nigeria, and in June, The Tide expanded even further to include the Dzongkha language spoken in Bhutan, a small nation in South Asia bordered by China and India. These three newest languages keep The Tide on track for its aggressive goal to introduce evangelistic radio programs in 15 new languages by the year 2015 through its Vision 2015 initiative, ultimately offering programming in 29 total languages across the globe by 2015. The Tide's Vision 2015 builds on the momentum of more than six decades of radio ministry. The goal of Vision 2015 is to add approximately four new heart language programs each year over the next four years. With almost a quarter of the world's population living within the current range of The Tide radio programming, and nearly 7,000 languages spoken in the world today, the opportunities are tremendous. Several new potential languages are also being considered for further Tide growth, such as those spoken by people groups in Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Nigeria, including its Tiv language. The Yoa language spoken in parts of Malawi, Zambia and Tanzania, along with more tribal languages in India as well as opportunities in Thailand and Pakistan are also in the strategic planning phases.
