Gordon Gallery Information

Gordon Gallery was founded in 1966 in a small space on Gordon Street, Tel Aviv. Another branch was opened in 1969 on nearby Nathan Hechacham Street, and in 1980 Gordon opened its present large space on Ben-Yehuda Street. For the past 47 years Gordon Gallery has held over 400 exhibitions, published scores of catalogues and several major art books some of which are considered among the finest and most authoritative art books published in Israel. Yair Garbuz, Yaacov Dorchin, Michael Druks, Raffi Lavie, Ra'anan Levy, Uri Lifshitz, Ofer Lellouche, Aharon Messeg and Henry Shelesnyak are among those who began their career exhibiting at Gordon Gallery. today they stand at the forefront of Israeli art. In 2012 Gordon's sister gallery, Gordon Gallery 2, opened in a charming space located on 4 Natan Hachacham St., Tel Aviv. Much like Gordon in it's early days, Gordon 2 is dedicated cutting edge contemporary art, serving as a platform for the next generation of Israeli artists by hosting a variety of exhibitions, lectures and alternative art events. Focusing on a younger generation of artists and art lovers, as a natural continuation to Gordon Gallery, enables both galleries to represent a comprehensive view of Israeli art today, with the perspective gained from decades of exhibiting leading contemporary Israeli art.
