Geraldton Organised Primary Producers Cooperative Ltd (GOPP) was first established some 35 years ago by David Smith who also set up SBS Rural for the benefit of farmers. GOPP is a non-distributing co-operative owned by its members and run by a committee. GOPP was run through SBS Rural until acquired by Wesfarmers. AWB purchased Wesfarmers and then AWB Landmark. In 2008, decided that they no longer wished to act as the settlement agent for GOPP. That's when the biggest changes since GOPP started really began. After extensive research the committee decided to go independent beginning from September 2008. Our settlement agent, Taylored Office Solutions, won the contract and GOPP has been developing and expanding ever since. GOPP is a buying group acting for its members by negotiating great savings from a wide range of suppliers in Geraldton and the Midwest. GOPP promotes local suppliers to its members who then enjoy account facilities at these businesses. Our team at GOPP is highly motivated and very customer focused. We strive to ensure that the Cooperative continues to grow and deliver great value to all our members. Through a streamlined and centralised process, GOPP handles all aspects of supplier billing and member payment. This delivers significant time-saving benefits to both groups and reduces business overhead costs for members and suppliers.
