What does ‘Gooseberry Fool' mean? A "fool" is a British dessert made by folding pureed fruit into whipped cream. Gooseberries are traditional but any fruit can be used. Gooseberry Fool, the Brentwood café makes a mean Blackberry Fool. How did the café get named? Back in 2001, when Kerri was contemplating names for her fledging company, she came upon it in a cookbook and liked it as a unique company name. Plus, who doesn't like fruit and whipped cream?!
