Goodest is a modern, foster-based dog rescue dedicated to giving large-breed dogs the second chance they deserve. Built on the belief that every dog is the goodest, we focus on the dogs most often overlooked in shelters — the big ones, the anxious ones, and the ones who need stability, structure, and someone in their corner. We operate without a physical facility. Every dog we save goes directly into a safe, supportive foster home where they can decompress, heal, and prepare for adoption. Our model reduces stress on dogs, improves outcomes, and ensures that resources go exactly where they’re needed most: medical care, transport, and foster support. What We Do: • Rescue at-risk large-breed dogs from overcrowded shelters • Place dogs in vetted foster homes for decompression and rehabilitation • Cover all medical care, supplies, and essentials for fosters • Prepare dogs for successful long-term placements • Educate the community on responsible ownership and the unique needs of large breeds Why We Exist: Large-breed dogs face disproportionately high euthanasia rates due to fear, stigma, and limited space in shelters. Goodest was created to change that — with a modern, transparent, data-informed approach to rescue that prioritizes compassion, accountability, and impact. Our Model: Foster-based, community-driven, scalable. No facility. No kennels. No unnecessary overhead. Every dollar goes directly toward saving lives. Our Mission: To save tails, one good dog at a time — by giving every dog the chance to be seen, supported, and loved. Learn more or support the mission at goodestdogs.org.
