Goodboro believes we can have idyllic old-style neighborhoods again ... and it's Goodboro's mission to create the most authentic, successful, mixed-use neighborhoods possible , first, in its our own backyard, Utah, then throughout the United States and beyond. Fifty years ago, a walk through a typical American neighborhood would have been quite different than it is today ... To start with, you'd probably be walking on a sidewalk instead of the side of the road. The houses you passed would vary in style, shape, size and color , each having its own unique character. You'd converse with people along the way , your neighbors , perhaps resting on a bench now and then since parks and public squares were never far away. During this pleasant stroll you may pick up groceries at the local store or pick your son up from school. As basic as these things sound, they have all but vanished in the rush to build America. We have subdivisions designed for cars rather than neighborhoods designed for people. We have lost our sense of belonging, our connection with community and our quality of life. It's time to make a change. Of course, it's not possible to do this alone: Goodboro partners with local developers, political officials, financiers, and contractors. Goodboro then leverages this consortium in creating neighborhoods that withstand the test of time and become patterns for future development in their towns and surrounding region.
