Good Times Diner is a student-run dine-in and take-out service that distributes free, nutritious meals to students and residents of the Kingston community while providing a safe, confidential, and welcoming environment for our patrons and volunteers. Established in 2005, Good Times Diner operated out of St. Paul's Anglican Church for 15 years to serve the Kingston and Queen's community. In 2020, the service expanded to an on-campus satellite location to address the need for student access to our services. This was done in response to the 2019 OSAP cuts and the $30,000 loss in funding from the Work-Study Program. Good Times Diner now operates out of Chalmers United Church every Sunday from 5:30-7pm as a student take-out service. We hope to mitigate complications of food insecurity brought on by COVID-19 by increasing accessibility to our service.
