Why a help each other app? My name is Flemming, I am 48 years old, and I live alone with my 12-year-old son. I have been able to take care of myself since I was 17, and luckily, I have often been able to help the people close to me with everything under the sun. On Christmas Eve, my Christmas tree catches fire, and my house burns to the ground. Here I was, with my son who was 6 at the time, without any money, clothes, telephone, food and especially without a roof over my head, and neither public authorities nor my insurance company could help, as it was the Christmas holiday. Now I was suddenly the one who needed help! And it was not easy for me to ask for help, not even from my friends and family. This was the first time that I thought of a citizen-to-citizen app, where everyone could get help with anything, because sooner or later, we all need help. After the traumatic experience, my son and I have had the deal that at least 2 times a month, we go out and help people. This could be charitable fundraising campaigns, donating clothes, money and coffee etc. to the homeless people, helping out at the local sports club, being a visitor at a nursing home, helping our neighbour with the garden work etc. Our challenge was to find all the people who needed help, which was the main reason that I developed the GODEED app. The app makes it easy, simple and inspirational to help others. You can also help by offering your expertise/help, and then anyone can apply for precisely your help. Thus, the GODEED app is about giving other people joy, simply by lending a hand when you have the time and desire to do so. Through this app, we create joy and contact between people, develop social communities, prevent loneliness and strengthen citizenship. I have now gathered a very energetic team, who just like me hope that we will do our part for a better world, which is the predominant motivation to make this app a giant success.
